Former Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has set a target of 30 goals for Victor Osimhen at Galatasaray this season.

Osimhen has been very impressive since joining Galatasaray last year. Recall that he first joined the club in a season-long loan last year. But in the recently concluded summer transfer window, the deal was made permanent.

This season, Osimhen has contributed three goals in eight Super Lig appearances for the Cimbom. However, where most of his goals have come have is in Europe.

This season, the 26-year-old striker has contributed six goals in three Champions League appearances for the Cimbom.

Earlier this week, he even scored a hattrick to drag his side to a 3-0 over Ajax in Amsterdam. That hattrick broke multiple club and Champions League records.

It also earned him plaudits from people like Ilkay Gundogan, John Ogu. Now, even former Super Eagles coach Rohr has joined in.

What Gernot Rohr Said About Victor Osimhen

Gernot Rohr handed Victor Osimhen his first shot at Super Eagle football, and he has grown to become one of the greatest strikers in the country's history.

The Franco-German, who is now coach at Benin, has tagged Osimhen as one of the best strikers in the world, following his impressive displays.

“He is undoubtedly one of the best center-forwards in the world,” Rohr told Africa Foot.

“He's a true goalscorer, who thrives in high stakes matches. The Champions League, World Cup qualifiers, the Africa Cup of Nations, the Istanbul derbies… He loves a big atmosphere.”

This season, Osimhen has totaled nine goals for Galatasaray so far. But Rohr believes he would have scored at least 30 goals by the end of the season.

“It's early November and he already has twelve (nine) goals. At this rate, he should finish the season with around thirty goals to his name,” Rohr added.

Osimhen will be looking to continue banging the goals for club and country this season. The World Cup playoffs are fast approaching, and Super Eagles fans will be banking on him to lead the team to success.
