'They will start to cry on social media' — Osimhen trolls Fenerbahçe after Galatasaray beat Göztepe

Victor Osimhen Victor Osimhen

Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen aimed a dig at rival fans following his side's victory over Göztepe in the Turkish Süper Lig.

The 26-year-old was on target in what was his 50th appearance for the Yellow and Reds since joining the club on an initial loan deal from Napoli in September 2024.

Apart from finding the back of the net, Osimhen played a prominent role in the sending off of Göztepe's Malcom Bokele in the 42nd minute of the game for an elbow incident.

The sending off of the Cameroonian international has sparked several controversies across the Turkish media, with fans arguing that the challenge did not warrant a sending off.

Reacting to the incident, Osimhen insisted that the challenge was a bookable offense anywhere across Europe.

The Super Eagles striker did not spare a moment to aim a dig at Galatasaray rival fans Fenerbahçe after the game.

“I didn't know Bokele was already on a yellow card. For me, I think his hand was on my cheek and he hit me so hard, but I wouldn't say much about this; the referee already decided as there was contact for sure,” he told Forza Cimbom.

“But just like you know, the other rival will start to cry on social media, will try to speak whatever they want, but of course, even in Europe, you get a yellow card for this,” he added.
