Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk has explained his reason for substituting Victor Osimhen in the second half against Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League.

Osimhen netted the all-important goal as the Yellow and Reds edged the Premier League champions by a lone goal.

The 26-year-old netted from the spot in the first half as Galatasaray held on to see out a crucial victory at Rams Park.

The former Napoli forward was replaced by Mauro Icardi in the 71st minute of the game.

In a post-match presser, Buruk stated that Victor Osimhen was subbed off due to tiredness.

“Osimhen was feeling tired and had a cramp in his foot, but we don’t think it’s anything serious,” Buruk was quoted by the club’s official website.

“There’s no negative information coming in at this time.”

Osimhen was adjudged Man of the Match after the game.
