Galatasaray insider Kaya Temel has dismissed speculations of friction between the club's attacking duo of Victor Osimhen and Mauro Icardi.

According to Temel, there is a cordial relationship between the Nigerian international and the Argentine forward.

Icardi joined the Yellow and Reds in September 2022, with Osimhen arriving at the Turkish giants two seasons later, initially on a loan deal before signing permanently this summer.

The duo has played only seven matches together due to the long-term injury Icardi suffered last season, which ruled him out for the remainder of the campaign.

Osimhen and Icardi have not created a goal for each other in those seven games, a stat that has fueled speculation of rancour between the two strikers, a claim that has been debunked by club insider Temel.

“Again, there are those who like to create chaos where there isn’t any,” he told Habersarikirmizi.

“There’s nothing to suggest that Icardi was applauded or Osimhen was upset.

“My reliable sources in Kemerburgaz say there’s no problem between Osimhen and Icardi; they joke around before every training session anyway.”

Osimhen, who is currently recuperating from an ankle injury, is expected to return to action against Liverpool in UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, September 30.
