Nigerian defender Ola Aina is a major doubt for Nottingham Forest’s Premier League trip to the Emirates Stadium this weekend.

The Gunners will host the Tricky Trees in a Matchday Four fixture, aiming to return to winning ways after their defeat to Liverpool before the international break.

Aina picked up an injury while on national duty with Nigeria during the Super Eagles’ clash against South Africa.

The 28-year-old was substituted just ten minutes into the game at the Free State Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein, with Bright Osayi-Samuel taking his place at right-back.

Although Nottingham Forest has yet to disclose the full extent of Aina’s injury, early signs suggest the former Torino defender may miss the showdown against Mikel Arteta’s side.

Aina has featured in all three of Forest’s matches this season—against Brentford, Crystal Palace, and West Ham United—playing a key role in their defensive setup.
