Nigerian defender Calvin Bassey has faulted Manchester United's goal against Fulham in the Premier League on Sunday, August 24.

Fulham held the Red Devils to a 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage as Emile Smith-Rowe came off the bench to score the equalizer after Yeni Yoro's header deflected off Rodrigo Muniz.

Smith-Rowe found the net following a fine assist from Alex Iwobi.

Fulham players protested Manchester United's goal in the 56th minute, claiming that Yoro unfairly pushed Calvin Bassey to prevent him from defending the corner kick.

Earlier in the match, Bassey had committed a penalty in the first half, which Bruno Fernandes failed to convert.

Speaking in a post-match interview, Bassey stated that Manchester United's goal should have been disallowed for a foul.

“It’s the same as my one. It’s a foul. He pushed me to stop me from getting to the ball. When the ref looks back on it, he will be disappointed. I can’t say too much before I get a fine!” Bassey told Sky Sports.

“But come on, it’s a foul. When you’ve got to jump, any little touch can put you off. He’s got two hands [on my back]. How much worse do you need? On another day, it goes in our favour.”
