Barcelona's striker Robert Lewandowski has sustained a hamstring injury and might miss the beginning of the La Liga season, the Catalan club announced on Friday.
"The first team player Robert Lewandowski has a hamstring problem in his left thigh," Barcelona said in a statement, without specifying how long the Polish striker would be out of action.
The 36-year-old won't be able to play in Sunday's friendly against Como, so there's some uncertainty about whether he'll be ready for Barcelona's La Liga opener against Mallorca on August 16.
Last season, Lewandowski scored 42 goals in 52 appearances across all competitions, helping Hansi Flick's team secure the Spanish league, cup, and super cup trophies.
