Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface has responded to critics of his online behavior, particularly the perception that he’s rude due to his frequent sharing of savage memes.

The 24-year-old Nigerian international has faced several backlash for his social media lifestyle.

Speaking on <>The Culture League podcast, Boniface clarified that posting savage memes doesn't equate to having a rude personality.

“People have a misconception that most football players are rude or prideful just because we don’t associate too much with other professions. No, we are not,” he explained.

“The public want us to be like other celebrities, but there are certain things entertainers can do that we can’t. So when we don’t do those things, they assume we’re rude.”

“Me, for example—I post a lot of savage memes, and people think I’m rude, but I’m not. I would never insult anyone online unless they say something offensive. Some of us have in-built craziness that people have to provoke out—but I’m just calm. But if you bring it, we will give it to you.”
