Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has expressed keen interest in signing Ademola Lookman from Atalanta this summer.

According to Italian publication Tuttosport via Napoli Magazine, De Laurentiis is personally handling negotiations with Atalanta over a possible move for the reigning African Footballer of the Year.

“De Laurentiis is relentless and is personally negotiating with the Percassi family to secure approval for Ademola Lookman’s transfer,” the publication stated.

“In January, Napoli ran out of time to complete a deal for the 27-year-old African Footballer of the Year,” Tuttosport wrote.

Napoli manager Antonio Conte has identified the Super Eagles winger as a potential replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who joined European champions Paris Saint-Germain in January.

The Italian tactician is looking to bolster his squad ahead of next season as Napoli aims to defend the Scudetto title and compete in Europe.

Lookman registered 20 goals and provided seven assists for La Dea last season.
