Nigerian international Victor Osimhen has etched his name into the history books following Galatasaray's victory over Kayserispor in the Super Lig.

Osimhen opened the scoring in the 26th minute as Galatasaray thrashed Kayserispor 3-0 at Rams Park to secure Super Lig title.

Barış Yılmaz and goalkeeper Fernando Muslera added the remaining goals as Galatasaray clinched their 25th league title.

The 26-year-old has now become the third player to score 25 goals in a single Super Lig season, according to Opta.

The Super Eagles striker has equaled the previous record set by Bafétimbi Gomis in the 2017-18 season and Mauro Icardi in the 2023-24 campaign.

Osimhen has now netted 25 goals in 29 league appearances for the Yellow and Reds this season.

The former Lille striker is on the verge of winning the Golden Boot in Turkey in his debut season, having joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan from Napoli last September.

The Nigerian striker is now four goals ahead of İstanbul Başakşehir's Krzysztof Piątek in the race for the Golden Boot award with two matches remaining.
