Popular Nigerian photojournalist, Sulaimon Adebayo, popularly known as Pooja, has disclosed that he saved for month to travel to Naples, Italy, to watch Nigeria's Victor Osimhen lift the Scudetto title with Napoli.

Osimhen had a remarkable campaign with the Naples-based club in the 2022/23, scoring 25 Serie A goals to guide Napoli to their first Serie A title in 33 years.

The Nigerian international also won the Capocannoniere award, becoming the first African star to achieve this feat, and was voted the Best Striker in Serie A for that campaign.

In an exclusive interview with The PUNCH, Pooja, an acclaimed FIFA and CAF photojournalist shed some insights on his career in Photojournalism and his relationship with some Super Eagles stars.

Addressing the rumours surrounding his relationship with Victor Osimhen, Pooja disclosed that he is not on the payroll of the former Lille striker contrary to the rumours flying around.

"I believe it’s not just me or just Osimhen. It’s normal for people to feel that way because we are close to these players. This is normal in our job., Pooja told The PUNCH.

"Even when I went to Napoli for the Scudetto celebrations, many people said Victor Osimhen paid for all my bills despite saving for months to go for the event. So, we are used to it."

Pooja has covered a number of high-profile international tournaments, including the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and African Cup of Nations tournaments.
