Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has revealed why the club didn't consider signing Napoli striker Victor Osimhen last summer.
Osimhen had a remarkable season, scoring 31 goals in 39 appearances across all competitions, leading Napoli to their first Scudetto title in 33 years.
He was voted the best striker in Serie A, winning the Capocannoniere award with 26 goals, and was crowned African Best Player in December.
Following his impressive campaign, Osimhen was linked to top European clubs, including Real Madrid, as a potential replacement for Karim Benzema, who eventually joined the Saudi Pro League.
However, Ancelotti explained that the club opted not to sign Osimhen, instead relying on summer signing Jude Bellingham to fill the void left by Benzema.
"No, [we didn't sign Osimhen] because I think the club thought that Benzema's absence could be remedied by purchasing Bellingham," Ancelotti told Radio Serie A.
