Two Nigerian players Anuoluwapo Opeyori and Godwin Olofua will battle for the gold medal in men’s singles badminton event at the Africans Games 2023.
The final will come up later on Sunday evening at the Borteyman indoor sports complex.
To get to the final, Opeyori defeated his Egyptian opponent 2-1 in his semi-final match.
On his part, Olofua saw off his Nigerian counterpart Victor Ikechukwu to set up the final showdown with Opeyori.
In the women’s event, Nigeria’s Dorcas Adesokan lost her singles semi-final to Uganda’s Husina Kobugabe 2-0.
On the medals table, Team Nigeria is now in sixth place with three silver and three bronze medals.
