Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has aimed a dig at the Black Stars of Ghana after their team photo surfaced on social media ahead of the 2023 African Cup of Nations.

In a tweet which he later deleted on Wednesday, January 10, the former lawmaker described the Super Eagles team photo before their departure to Ivory Coast as rap artists.

The Super Eagles team wore a two-piece African outfit with a Nigerian-themed hat.

He, however, described the Black Stars who were also clad in their beautiful traditional attire as inmates with handcuffs.

Meanwhile, both teams arrived in Abidjan on Wednesday, January 10 ahead of the 34th edition of the continent's biggest football festival slated for Ivory Coast.

The Super Eagles and the Black Stars have been tipped among the favourites to win the title.

Nigeria are placed in Group A with hosts Cote d'Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau.

Ghana will also trade tackles with Mohammed Salah's Egypt, Cape Verde and Mozambique.
