Osasuna are set to come under the hammer of La Liga after a section of their supporters aimed death chants against Manchester United loanee, Mason Greenwood on his Getafe debut.
The 21-year-old forward made his first appearance in 20 months after coming on as a substitute. Getafe ran out with a 3-2 victory against Osasuna but faced a hostile reception from the fans.
According to Football Espana, Osasuna fans voiced their displeasure from the Estadio Coliseum Alfonso Perez stands when Greenwood was subbed on, with many screaming ‘die’ during the encounter.
La Liga’s official match observer is said to have heard the chants. Now, a legal and disciplinary process is set to follow, with Los Rojillos expected to face a heavy fine from the Spanish league body.
Greenwood joined Getafe on loan from Manchester United on the transfer deadline this summer after the English courts acquitted him on assault and coercive control charges.
