Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen is the toast of the Italian Serie A after aiding his side to their first Scudetto in 33 years.

He also did it in fine fashion, scoring 23 goals and 47 in total to break the record for an African player in the league.

His exploits has gained him plaudits from far and wide as talks of a potential move out of the league intensify.

On social media, however, the 24-year-old attacker replied to a post made by the popular blogger Tunde Ednut of him.

Tunde Ednut, who many regard as the father of blogging shared a video of Osimhen scoring a penalty that took him above the legendary George Weah in the all-time scorers chart by an African in the league.

He said: "This guy is just a genius! 2 home games left - the 21st of May & 4th of June". Osimhen responded with some emojis.

Weah was playing for AC Milan when he inked the record, scoring 46 goals. The Liberian made the record 21 years ago in 1999.

Meanwhile, Napoli chief Aurelio De Laurentiis has insisted the club will not sell star striker Victor Osimhen this summer in the face of significant interest from across Europe.

Osimhen has been one of the club's most influential players this campaign as they ended a 33-year Serie A title drought.

The Nigerian scored the crucial equalizing goal at Udinese on Thursday which confirmed the title, though his goals and general performances had long meant it was an inevitability.
