EPL: Late Mac Allister's penalty sinks Manchester United

World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister scored a 99th-minute spot kick as Brighton and Hove Albion beat Manchester United 1-0 at the American Express Community Stadium in the Premier League on Thursday night.

Roberto De Zerbi's side who dominated the game from the blast of the referee's whistle were finally awarded a spot-kick in the dying embers of the game after Luke Shaw was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box following a VAR review.

Mac Allister, 24, made no mistake from the spot as he sent David De Gea the wrong way to secure all three points for the Seagulls.

It was the Argentine's 6th goal from the spot this season as he gave Brighton a major boost in their quest to qualify for European football next season.

Meanwhile, the defeat dents Manchester United's hope of a top-four finish.
