Napoli talisman Victor Osimhen scored a late equalizer as the runaway Serie A leaders played out a 1-1 draw with rivals AC Milan in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal clash.

The 24-year-old cancelled out Olivier Giroud's 43rd-minute goal, but it wasn't enough to salvage the Parthenopeans from crashing out of the competition.

The Italian champions had earlier secured a one-goal advantage in the first leg as the tie ended 2-1 on aggregate in favour of the Rossoneri.

Despite exiting the competition, the Super Eagles striker set three astonishing records with his 93rd-minute equalizer.

First Napoli player to score a UCL quarterfinal goal

The Nigerian striker became the first Napoli player to score a quarterfinal goal in the UEFA Champions League.

Georgian international Khvicha Kvaratskhelia could have easily claimed the record, but he fluffed his lines from the spot in the 82nd minute.

Most goals by a Nigerian player in a single UCL campaign

Osimhen joined the likes of Yakubu Aiyegbeni and Obafemi Martins to become the third Nigerian player to score a record of 5 Champions League goals in a season.

Yakubu Aiyegbeni managed 5 UCL goals in the 2002/03 season for Portsmouth.

Obafemi Martins also netted 5 UCL goals during the 2004/2005 campaign for Inter Milan.

Most UCL goals by a Nigerian player in the knockout stage

Victor Osimhen also surpassed Obafemi Martins to become the Nigerian player with the most UCL knockout goals (4).

The Ex-Lille forward scored 3 goals against Frankfurt in the round of 16 coupled with his late strike against Milan.

Elsewhere in the UCL, Los Blancos sunk the Stamford Bridge ship as the defending champions knocked Chelsea twice to boot them out of the competition with a 4-0 aggregate win.
