Bukayo Saka has downplayed the importance of Arsenal's crucial encounter against Manchester City in the Premier League title race.

The Gunners will travel to the London Stadium to take on West Ham in their next PL fixture on Sunday, April 16 before the classical showdown against champions Manchester City.

Speaking ahead of their super clash against Pep Guardiola's men, the 21-year-old acknowledged the importance of the fixture to their PL title hopes.

He, however, refused to tag the fixture as the final decider of the race to become PL champions.

“As players, we really want to do this,” Saka told the club’s website. “We know that everything is in our hands and we just have to keep going game by game.

“If we win these last eight games and get some good results, the title can be ours, so we just have to stay focused. It’s a long season and we have to be consistent all the way through, so that’s what we’ll try to do.

“I wouldn’t say [the Man City game] is the final, but maybe the semi-final because it’s massive, and so important as both teams are fighting at the top. It’s really close so it’ll be a massive game.”

The England international of Nigerian parentage has managed 12 goals and 10 assists in 30 PL appearances for Mikel Arteta's side this term.
