The 2022-23 European season campaign is gradually coming to an end, and some opponents have been knocked out in the course of the tournament.

A new opponent has been drawn with teams who have survived to the quarterfinals as the round of 16 was completed on Thursday night.

Eight opponents will be matched up against each other in the quarterfinals of all European competitions, including the UEFA Champions League, Europa League, and Europa Conference League, in order to proceed to the final four.

A new opponent has been assigned to several Nigerian players owing to their exceptional play in these competitions, which helped their team advance.

In light of this, Soccernet.ng will spotlight seven players and the new opponents their team will face in the quarterfinals.

Victor Osimhen (SSC Napolia)

The Super Eagles star, Osimhen, has been crucial in his team’s progress in the Champions League. As they’ve crashed out Eintracht Frankfurt in the round-of-16 on 5-nil aggregate, the Parthenopeans have been placed to face their Serie A rivals, AC Milan.

On April 12, 2023, the Gli Azzurri will go to face the Red and Blacks in the opening leg of their doubleheader match, and there will be fireworks at the San Siro Stadium.

Victor Boniface (Royale Union Saint Gilloise)

Victor Boniface has been terrific for Royale Union Saint Gilloise as they advanced to the quarter-finals, scoring 5 goals and dishing out an assist in 8 Europa League matches.

After his team’s first leg of their doubleheader at the Stadion a der Alten Försterei, the former Bodo/Glimt player beat other European stars to win Player of the Week.

On April 13, 2023, the Nigerian attacker will attempt to guide his team to victory as they take on Bayer Leverkusen in the first leg of their double-header match.

Gift Orban (KAA Gent)

The Nigerian attacker has received plaudits for his recent KAA Gent performance. The 20-year-old scored 7 goals for the Belgian team in two straight games.

The Super Eagles-eligible star, who has five goals in four Europa Conference League games, will attempt to steer his team to victory after scoring a hat trick in the second leg of their doubleheader match against Basaksehir FK.

On April 13, 2023, the Buffalos are scheduled to face West Ham United of the English Premier League.

Ishaq Abdulrazak (RSC Anderlecht)

The Nigerian star has not yet contributed much to RSC Anderlecht’s European Conference League performance; instead, he has mostly supported his colleagues from the sidelines.

The 20-year-old will be eager for a start and a long minute when his club plays AZ Alkmaar in their doubleheader match on April 13 despite his 12 minutes of action against Silkeborg IF.

Terem Moffi (OGC Nice)

In Nice’s round of 16 matches against FC Sheriff, Terem Moffi played in the Europa Conference league for the first time.

The Super Eagles attacker has scored a goal for the Gym in just two outings, and he will be hoping to add to that total when the Ligue 1 team is paired with FC Basel in the quarterfinals.
