Despite their elimination from the Europe League, some section of Arsenal fans in Nigeria say they are unperturbed as they believe the second-tier European club competition is a disturbance to their Premier League title pursuit.

Mikel Arteta's side lost 5-3 on penalty shootouts to Portuguese side Sporting CP following a 1-1 draw at the Emirates Stadium after extra time.

Granit Xhaka gave the Gunners the lead in the 19th minute before Pedro Goncalves equalized for the visitors in the 62nd minute with a wonder of a strike.

The game progressed to extra time and penalties which saw the visitors emerge as victors on the night.
