Al-Hilal are set to offer Lionel Messi a whooping €220 million per year deal that could see him become the new face of Saudi Arabian football, GOAL reports.

The World Cup winner's future remains uncertain as his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires in the summer.

The 35-year-old has been linked with a move to Inter Miami in MLS. Other reports have linked him with a return to his former club FC Barcelona.

Messi's long-time rival Cristiano Ronaldo secured a move to the Saudi Professional League joining Al Nassr in a deal worth £177m per year ($215m) as per AFP, following the mutual termination of his contract with Manchester United in December.

Spanish publication Marca reports that Al Nassr's rival in the Saudi league are plotting a similar deal to lure the ex-Barcelona star to Riyadh from the French capital.

Messi's agent and father Jorge Messi was spotted in Riyadh on Tuesday, March 14, fuelling speculations of a possible move for the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner.

The recently crowned FIFA Best player will team up with Nigeria's Odion Ighalo in the Al-Hilal attack should the deal falls through.
