Former Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Emenike has thrown his weight behind the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi in his bid to become Nigeria's next president.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the early hours of Wednesday, March 1 declared Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of the February 25 polls.

The declaration by the electoral body has caused a stir among many young Nigerians who believe the election was rigged for the former governor of Lagos State.

Others have also called for re-election believing that the exercise was not free and fair aside it been marred by voting irregularities at several polling units.

Peter Obi while addressing the people of Nigeria on Thursday, March 2 stated unequivocally that the Labour Party won the polls, and they will prove it.

Meanwhile, Emenike who turns out to be an 'Obidient' in a recent Instagram post after meeting the former governor of Anambra State said, “Nothing is impossible when God is on your side”

According to INEC official figures, Bola Tinubu polled a total of 8,794,726 votes to emerge as winner of the 2023 presidential elections.

Atiku Abubakar of the main opposition party, the PDP who came second in the polls won 6,984,520 votes and Mr. Peter Obi also garnered 6,101,533 to finish in third place.
