Breakdown of Osimhen's 100 career goals

Super Eagles and Napoli superstar Victor Osimhen attained a huge milestone in his senior career after netting a century of goals last Friday.

The 24-year-old scored in Napoli's 2-0 victory away at Sassuolo in Serie A in what was his 100th career goal for both club and country.

The in-form striker grabbed the second goal for the league leaders after his attacking partner Khvicha Kvaratskhelia had given Luciano Spalletti's men an early lead in minute 12.

The goal was Osimehen's 18th league goal in 19 league appearances this season and he is currently the leading top scorer in the Italian topflight.

Let's examine the breakdown of Osimhen's 100th career goals at the club level the national team.

Royal Charleroi (20 goals)

After failing to find the back of the net for Bundesliga side Wolfsburg following a successful outing at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2015, Osimhen joined the Belgian club in the summer of 2018 and hit the ground running.

Osimhen took full advantage of the opportunity handed him by the club by netting 20 goals in 36 games.


Lille (15 goals)

Following his successful spell with the Belgian club, Osimhen signed for Ligue 1 side Lille in 2019.

Osimhen maintained his remarkable goal-scoring form after scoring 15 goals for Lille in the 2019/2020 season which was truncated due to the Corona Virus pandemic.

Osimhen scored 13 goals in the league and 2 in the UEFA Champions League before his big-money move to Napoli in 2020.


Napoli (47 goals)

Victor Osimhen joined Napoli for a club-record fee of €75m in the summer of 2020.

He managed just 10 goals in 24 games in his first season.

In his second season, the Nigerian international managed 18 goals across all competitions with 14 of those goals coming in the league.

The Super Eagles striker has finally found his feet this season, after netting 18 goals in 19 appearances for the league leaders to sit at the apex of the top scorer's chart.

Osimhen has also managed 1 goal in the UCL with his goal coming against Ajax in the group phase.


Nigeria (15 goals)

On the international level, the 24-year-old has netted 15 goals in 23 caps for the Super Eagles.

His last goal and appearance came in Nigeria's 10-0 mauling of Sao Tome and Principe in the AFCON qualifiers where he netted 4 goals in that game.

Osimhen has been tipped by many fans to surpass Rashidi Yekini's record of 36 goals in 62 caps for the Super Eagles.

The legendary striker remains Nigeria's all-time top scorer.
