Christian Atsu took the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations by storm after bursting onto the scene as Ghana's version of Lionel Messi.

The nimble-footed player was not only Ghana's best player at the tournament but the Most Valuable Player at the end of the competition.

Atsu, who was then playing for Bournemouth on loan from Chelsea, played a key role as Ghana reached the final only to lose to Ivory Coast on penalties.

He wrote his name in the history books with some dazzling displays in Equatorial Guinea.

In a video shared on social media, Atsu is seen mesmerizing opposing teams as well as scoring some exquisite goals.

Christian Atsu made his debut at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa, playing in all five games as Ghana finished fourth. He scored in the 3-0 win over Niger.

Two years later, he was the star for the Black Stars in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon. Atsu played in the opener against Senegal as Ghana lost 2-1. He also started in the match against Algeria before climaxing his group stage performance in the win over South Africa.

Atsu stole the show in the quarter-final against Guinea, scoring twice and providing an assist in the 3-0 win. In the semi-final against Equatorial Guinea, Atsu was the catalyst as the Black Stars cruised to a 3-0. In the final against Ivory Coast, Atsu twice hit the woodwork.
