Borussia Dortmund forward of Nigerian descent Karim Adeyemi has revealed that eating the local Nigerian delicacy, Fufu is the secret behind his incredible speed.

The 21-year-old scored the only goal as Dortmund secured a one-goal advantage over the Blues at Signal Iduna Park in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 matches.

The former Red Bull Salzburg star scored in the 68th minute after running with the ball from his own half breezing past Enzo Fernandez before rounding Kepa Arrizabalaga to condemn Graham Potter's side to yet another defeat.

Speaking in post-match reaction, the German international of Nigerian descent attributed his great pace to eating the local Nigerian delicacy, Fufu.

Karim Adeyemi was born in Munich to a Nigerian father and a Romanian mother.

He features for the German national team, Die Mannschaft with four caps to his name which makes him ineligible for the Super Eagles.
