2015 AFCON Best Player reportedly missing after earthquake hit parts of Turkey

Ghana Black Star Winger Christian Atsu is reportedly missing after a huge earthquake hit southern Turkey and part of Syria.

According to reports, the Hatayspor winger and his club director Taner Suvet have been stuck under rubble following the quake in Türkiye.

Turkish journalist, Yağız Sabuncuoğlu reports that a rescue team has been dispatched to search for the two victims.

"Hatayspor forward Cristian Atsu and director Taner Savut have been left under the rubble after the earthquake in Türkiye. Search and rescue teams are looking them now."

Meanwhile, BBC reports that the earthquake which hits southern Turkey and Syria has claimed over 1,800 lives.

Christian Atsu was voted the Best Player at the 2015 AFCON. He has also featured for Newcastle United and Everton in the Premier League.
