David Okereke says Cremonese can’t throw in the towel yet following another defeat against Inter Milan at the weekend.

The Nigerian insists Cremonese can still beat the drop, but the players and coaches must stick together.

Okereke scored a wonder goal in the 11th minute, but the Simeone Inzaghi’s side fought back to win 2-1.The defeat means Cremonese are yet to record a win after match day 20 of the league.

“We know that we are a team that has to suffer compactly, and if it does, it can put anyone in difficulty, but in the end, the results aren’t coming,” Okereke reacted to the defeat.

“But we must believe in it until the end. Is there a risk of demoralizing us? No, no.

“We are a good group, we know that there are difficult moments, but by working together we will be able to achieve the results we want,” he told the club media.

The former Club Brugge forward also spoke about his wonder goal.

“The goal? It was a great goal – said David Okereke at the end of Cremonese-Inter – but it didn’t bring any points and therefore it hurts.

“I saw that I was free, I turned around and put the ball where I wanted,” He concluded.
