Kortrijk defender Tsuyoshi Watanabe seems unimpressed with Genk striker Paul Onuachu despite the 28-year-old leading the top scorer's chart in the Belgium Pro League.

The Japanese defender who has been formidable in KV Kortrijk's defence this season believes the Japanese league has more technical and smarter players than Belgium's first division.

Making reference to when he faced the Onuachu who is the leading top scorer in the league with 14 goals, the 25-year-old noted that the Super Eagles striker is a good player but not a smart striker.

“The Belgian league? No, that was unknown to me. Now I can compare them with the Japanese competition. It has smarter and more technical players than the Belgian ones,” he told Het Nieuwsblad as per Brila.

“Take the match against Genk now. I then faced Onuachu . A good player, but not a smart striker. He only uses his body and I managed to win many headers from him.”

KV Kortrijk beat KRC Genk by a lone goal on Boxing Day, in a game the lanky Nigerian striker was kept at bay.
