Ademola Lookman has scored 11 goals across all competitions for Atalanta this season

Red-hot Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman has hailed his team's brilliant performance against Spezia in the Coppa Italia.

The 25-year-old continued his goal-scoring streak after hitting a brace in quick succession to help I Nerazzurri to a 5-2 victory against their Serie A rivals on Thursday night.

The ex-Leicester City man scored the opener inside the opening 10 minute and added a second two minutes later.

Goals from his teammates Hans Hateboer and Rasmus Hojlund plus an own goal from Chelsea loanee, Ethan Ampadu sealed a convincing win for Gian Piero Gasperini's side.

The win means that Lookman and co have booked their place in the quarterfinals of the Coppa Italia and will lock horns with Inter Milan on January 30 for a place in the last 4.

After the game, Lookman took to social media to congratulate his side for their impressive display, "Quarter-finals next, Bravo team ????????⚽️⚽️ @Atalanta_BC ????," the Nigerian international wrote on Twitter.

The Super Eagles star has so far netted 11 goals this season for the Bergamo-based club since joining the club from RB Leipzig in the summer.
