Women's World Cup: Waldrum plots major upsets against Australia, Canada

Randy Waldrum Randy Waldrum

Nigeria Senior WNT head Coach, Randy Waldrum is optimistic of an impressive outing at the forthcoming 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The American said, the immediate objective for his side is to make it out of the Group phase.

Nigeria were handed a tricky draw at the FIFA Women’s World Cup to be co-hosted by New Zealand and Australia.

The Super Falcons are housed in Group B alongside co-hosts, Australia. They also have Canada and Ireland.

“The first target for us at the World Cup is to advance out of the group stage,” Waldrum expressed optimism.

“Everyone wants to get to the knockout stage, but, obviously in order to achieve that, you have to advance out of the group. Our focus is principally on doing that,” He said.

The Super Falcons will be starting out their FIFA campaign against Canada before other games against Australia and Ireland.
