Cristiano Ronaldo has broken his social media silence for the first time since the 2022 World Cup concluded.

The former Manchester United star had a tournament to forget, as his Portugal side were sent packing in the quarter-final stage.

Portugal's early exit came in the hands of underdogs Morocco, who stunned them 1-0 to advance to the semis.

Ronaldo's disappointing outing also saw him play a less prominent role in the team, with the Selecao boss at the time, Fernando Santos opting for youngsters.

Daily Mail reports that the veteran forward's last social media post was after his country's World Cup elimination and he has not posted since.

However, the 37-year-old has finally broken his silence online, with the five-time Ballon d'Or winner posting a photo of himself on his Instagram stories having some fun times at an indoor swimming pool.

The former Real Madrid attacker cut a smiling face in the photo as he continues to make the most of his time away from football.
