Following her successful year, celebrated athlete Oluwatobiloba Amusan has been named the best women’s athlete in Africa and fifth best in the globe by the World Athletics.

Amusan shot to fame following her impressive performances at the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Oregon, United States of America.

She claimed the gold medal in the 100m hurdles and also set a new world record of 12.22s.

The 24-year-old Ogun State born continued with her impressive showing as she successfully defended her Diamond League title and won the gold medal in the 100m hurdles at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham City.

Jamaica’s track queen, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce occupied the first position on the ranking table.

Her compatriot, Shericka Jackson is second, with Yulimar Rojas and Sydney McLaughlin in third and fourth positions respectively.
