Kingsley Coman suffers racist abuse after penalty miss in World Cup final

Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman has been subjected to racial abuse on social media after missing his spot kick in the World Cup final against Argentina at the Lusail Iconic Stadium on Sunday, December 18.

The 26-year-old missed Les Blues' first spot kick after he was denied by Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.

Real Madrid youngster Aurelien Tchouameni missed France's next spot kick as La Albiceleste went ahead to win the game 4-2 in the shootout after a breathtaking 120 minutes of football.

Coman was instrumental in France's second goal after he dispossessed Lionel Messi to create the chance for Mbappe to draw the game level.

The ex-Juventus man's post on Instagram after the game was greeted with racist comments which forced him to take the post down.

His club side Bayern Munich later released a statement via their social media handle to condemn the abuse targeted at the French man.

"FC Bayern strongly condemn the racist comments made towards Kingsley Coman.

"The FC Bayern family is behind you, King. Racism has no place in sport or our society," the club said in tweet.
