France won't underrate Morocco - Varane

The Atlas Lions will take on world champions France at the Al Bayt Stadium on Wednesday, December 14 as they look to write yet another chapter of their fairy-tale run at the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The North African giants have edged top football Nations like Belgium, Spain and Portugal on their astonishing run to the semi-finals of the tournament, becoming the first African Nation to achieve this remarkable feat.

Morocco faces a daunting prospect on Wednesday as they take on Les Bleus for a place in the grand finale billed for December 18 at the iconic Lusail Stadium.

Despite being the strong favourites on paper, Manchester United defender Rafael Varane has stated that the reigning world champions will not underestimate the North African giants.

“We have enough experience in the team to not fall into that trap,” the ex-Real Madrid defender said.

“We know Morocco are not here by chance. It is up to us experienced players to make sure everyone is prepared for another battle.”

Didier Deschamps' side will be aiming to qualify for back-to-back World Cup finals when they lock horns with Morocco on Wednesday.
