Qatar 2022: Okocha hails Casemiro for goal against Switzerland

Super Eagles legend Jay-Jay Okocha has hailed Casemiro for scoring the only goal as Brazil beat Switzerland 1-0 at the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Casemiro's late goal sealed Brazil's qualification to the round of 16 after a hard-fought win against the Swiss at the 974 Stadium.

Sharing his thoughts after the game, the ex-Bolton Wanderers midfielder praised the Manchester United man for his strike.

“Every striker will be proud of that goal. He has got it in his locker. There was a deflection, but he’ll take it any day,” Okocha said on Supersport.

“When it gets to the knockout stage, all you need is to get it right on the day and you might cause an upset.” He added.

Earlier in the day, Cameroon played a dramatic 3-3 draw with Serbia in the other group encounter.

Brazil will face the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in their final group game while Switzerland will square off against Serbia.
