Former Ivorian striker Didier Drogba has hailed Victor Osimhen as a “complete striker” after the Napoli star demonstrated real team solidarity in a video that has surfaced online.
In the said video, the 23-year-old handed over a penalty kick to teammate Khvicha Kvaratskhelia during Napoli's 4-2 win against Ajax at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
Osimhen, who is the designated first-choice penalty taker for the team was in no hurry to get on the scoresheet after being on the sidelines for 5 weeks.
His unselfish gesture of urging on his other teammates has caught the attention of many including Didier Drogba, who has praised the Nigerian international for his sportsmanship.
In a tweet, the Ivorian legend said, “That’s a complete striker: unselfishness... the real meaning of 'win as A TEAM”.
Interestingly, Osimhen later grabbed his own goal in the 89th minute to wrap up a comprehensive victory for the Partenopies as they secured qualification to the knockout stage of the UEFA Champions League.
