Evra makes U-turn on Nigeria, Ghana Jollof debate

Former Manchester United defender Patrice Evra has changed his mind on his initial claim that Ghana Jollof tastes better than that of Nigeria.

In a video posted on his Instagram titled 'THE JOLLOF WAR PART 2', the 41-year-old who is having a good time post-retirement from football stated that he didn't taste the right Nigeria Jollof the first time.

The ex-French international asked his fans to tag him with the best Nigeria and Ghana Jollof joint adding that the 'Jollof war' between the two West African countries must end.

“Guys, that Jollof war will never end. I was in a restaurant and a big guy dropped a piece of paper on my table and left. I turned it and saw 'don’t ever say that Ghanaian Jollof is better than Nigerian Jollof.”

“So, I feel scared and feel threatened for my life. So, I’m going to give another chance to my Nigerian people, maybe I tasted the not-too-good one the first time.”

It appears the friendly rivalry between Nigeria and Ghana will never end. The rivalry cuts across the area of sports, entertainment, food et cetera.

The Senegalese-born recently visited Nigeria, Senegal, and Ghana as part of his promotional tour for his autobiography titled ‘I Love This Game’.
