'Big shame' - Nigerians knock Malian female basketball team after fight broke out between two teammates

Nigerians on social media have slammed the Malian women's basketball team for their disgraceful act after securing the place of D'Tigress at the Women's Basketball World Cup.

Mali were drafted into the women's World Cup following the Federal government ban on all international basketball competitions.

The Malians benefited from D'Tigress withdrawal from the competition to feature at the tournament which has since seen them crash out after losing all four of their group matches.

Mali lost 56-89 to Japan, 58-118 to Australia, 59-74 to France, and 68-81 to Serbia.

To sum up what has been a disappointing campaign for the Malian team, two of their players were captured on camera fighting each other following their defeat to Serbia.

The two players apologised on Tuesday in a press conference after Mali's 88-65 defeat by Canada.

Meanwhile, some Nigerian have spoken out against the Malian women's basketball team for their poor performance at the tournament culminating in a disgraceful fight among themselves.
