3 Super Eagles players likely to hit international milestone after Algeria clash

As we build up to the Algeria friendly slated for tomorrow (Tuesday, September 27), we take a look at some Super Eagles players who are close to milestone caps for the national team.

Alex Iwobi- 60 CAPS

After pledging his national allegiance to Nigeria, Alex Iwobi has gone ahead to play 59 matches for the three-time African Champions.

The 26-year-old is likely to win his 60th cap for Nigeria against Algeria on Tuesday, September 27.

The former English youth international made his Super Eagles debut in October 2015 when he came on as a 57th-minute substitute for Ahmed Musa in Nigeria's 2-0 defeat to DR Congo in a friendly.

The in-form Everton star has scored 10 goals for his country in 59 matches.

Kenneth Omeruo - 60 CAPS

The Leganes defender has won 59 caps for his country since making his international debut for the Super Eagles as a 19-year-old back in 2013.

The 28-year-old has featured for Nigeria at international tournaments including the 2013 FIFA Confederation Cup and 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Kenneth Omeruo will win his 60th cap for Nigeria if he plays for Nigeria against Algeria on Tuesday.

He has scored two goals for the Super Eagles.

Ola Aina - 30 CAPS

After discussions with immediate-past NFF president, Amaju Pinnick, Ola Aina pledged his international career to Nigeria in 2017.

He was later named in the provisional squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, but he couldn't make the final 23-man squad.

The 25-year-old later received a call-up for the 2019 Nations Cup qualifiers. Aina went ahead to represent Nigeria at the 2019 and the 2021 African Cup of Nations in Egypt and Cameroon respectively.

Aina has gone ahead to win 29 caps for the Super Eagles, the ex-Torino defender is likely to win his 30th cap for the three-time African champions against Algeria on Tuesday.

The Super Eagles will take on the Desert Foxes at Oran Olympic Stadium in Algeria.
