Sadiq worth Almeria’s £52m valuation – Source

Almeria’s in-form striker Umar Sadiq is worth the £52m price tag slapped on him by the Segunda club, a close source has told The PUNCH.

Sadiq has impressed since his arrival at Almeria from Partizan Belgrade in 2020 and his goals have placed the club on the verge of promotion to LaLiga.

He has 12 goals and four assists in 22 league games this season and according to Extra Futbol that has caught the eye of Sevilla’s sporting director Monchi.

Players in Spain have a release clause in their contracts and according to spanish daily, Diario de Almeria, Sadiq has a buyout clause of £52m that could rise to €80m if Almeria gain promotion at the end of the season

“He’s worth every penny at the moment considering his form and the kind of impact he has made at the club,” the source who spoke on condition of anonymity told The PUNCH.

“We expect him to continue doing well and the best will happen in the summer.”

Sadiq, a member of the U-23 side that won bronze at the Rio 2016 Olympics, has also played for AS Roma and Glasgow Rangers.
