Alex Iwobi has backed Everton to bounce back from Wednesday night’s disappointing 3-1 home defeat to Manchester City.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side did manage to lay a glove at least as Richarlison cancelled out Phil Foden’s opener, only the second time in the last nine league games City have failed to keep a clean sheet, but there was no denying them a 17th straight win in all competitions.

The Toffees are now without a win in their last five home games ahead of facing Merseyside rival Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.

Everton stay in the seventh position on the table with the result putting a dent on their hopes of securing a top four finish at the end of the season.

Iwobi featured for 68 minutes in the game before he was replaced by Josh King.

“Dug Deep, We’ll Pick Our Heads Up & Go Again ???????? #UpTheToffees,” he tweeted after the game.

The Nigeria international has scored one goal in 20 league appearances for Everton this season.
