Nigeria boxing legend, Jeremiah Okorodudu, says he still has what it takes to coach at the highest level.

Okorodudu was part of the coaches that helped qualify Nigeria’s sole boxer to the 2016 Olympics in Brazil, Efe Ajagba.

After the end of his national team coaching career under the now-defunct National Sports Commission, the 1984 Olympian believes if given the opportunity, he will bring out the best from amateur boxers across the country.

“I still coach boxers at the stadium at a club, so it is still what I do,” Okorodudu told The Punch.

“I have said it several times that coaches should not just be in one place. I once told the sports ministry to send me around the country to discover talents that will win Olympic medals for the country.

“I am still ready to do that anytime I’m called upon. I can spot talents easily because coaching is my passion. The country has so many talents that can go out and excel but we are letting them waste away,” he added.
