Nigerian striker, Blessing Eleke has revealed his excitement at joining newly promoted side, Beerschot and hopes to play his part in their success when the new season begins.

Eleke's move to the first division A side comes after his exit from Swiss Club, FC Luzern. He signed a three-year deal.

The 24-year-old scored 22 goals in 72 appearances for Luzern and featured in the qualifying round of Champions League and Europa League, Brila.net reports.

Speaking after his move on Wednesday, Eleke said he is aiming to score lots of goals for the Antwerp-based club.

He added that his keenness to improve as a footballer was the main reason he joined Beerschot.

“I want to make everyone happy and proud with my goals,” Eleke told the club’s official website.

“I also want to score a lot for Beerschot and I am delighted that I can continue to grow at a club like Beerschot, in a city like Antwerp.”

“Of all the offers I had, this was the best for me. I get better every year and I want to push it to the limit.”

The Flying Sports Academy product had played for teams in Slovenia and Israel before linking up with Luzern in July 2018.
