NFF hold consultations on how to end the league season

The Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, has said that it is working on how the 2019/2020 domestic league season will end.

The league has been on hold since March due to the coronavirus outbreak in Nigeria.

SGF Boss Mustapha, the chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, revealed that the Federal Government has no plans to reopen sporting activities for now.

The League Management Company (LMC) has now proposed a point-per-game method alongside others towards ending the season.

“The Nigeria Football Federation has declared that wide consultation is still ongoing as to the format and pattern of foreclosing the 2019/2020 Football Season, including that of the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL,” read a statement from the NFF.

Topping the league is Plateau United with 49 points while Rivers United follow in second place with 45 points. Both club's are in te CAF Champions League.
