Erling Braut Haaland opened the show as Borrusia Dortmund thrashed Schalke 4-0 on Saturday as the German Bundesliga returns after months of suspension due to the deadly COVID-19.

A brace from Raphael Guerreiro and one from Thorgan Hazard ensured the Yellow Submarines remain second on the log with one point behind league-leaders Bayern who will play tomorrow.

Borussia Mönchengladbach keep their Champions League hopes alive after securing a 3-1 win against Frankfurt courtesy goals from Alassane Plea, Marcus Thuram and Ramy Bensebaini to keep them two points behind second-placed Dortmund.

Fourth-placed RB Leipzig, however, had to share the spoils with Freiburg as they played 1-1 to allow Mönchengladbach move to third place after trailing Julian Nagelsmann with a point before today's restart.

Wolfsburg also secured a 2-1 win away from home against Ausburg. Tin Jedvaj
cancelled Renato Steffen's 43rd-minute opener to draw the home side level in the 54th-minute.

Daniel Ginczek gave the away-side all three points after scoring a 90th-minute goal.
