VAR saves United from defeat, shares spoils with Everton

Manchester United were saved by the virtual assistant referee - VAR after in the 1-1 draw during Sunday's Premier League match at Goodison Park.

Everton took the lead early in the first half when De Gea cleared straight into Dominic Calvert-Lewin but United fought back and levelled things up through now boy, Bruno Fernandes' long-range shot.

Both sides remained inseparable until later in the game as they tried to break down each other's defences on several occasions.

Ighalo had a golden chance to put United up towards the closing end but was stopped by Jordan Pickford's brilliant save.

Things would take a twist almost immediately as United almost paid for Ighalo's miss.

Calvert-Lewin's shot was diverted in by Harry Maguire's toe, while Sigurdsson was still fitted in front of De Gea and the goal was called off for interference by VAR.

Everton's coach, Carlo Ancelotti was sent off after full-time whistle by the referee.

Wolves stun Tottenham 3-2

Jose Mourinho's men suffered a shocking 3-2 home defeat at the hands of Wolves on Saturday.

Spurs took the lead twice in the game but Wolves fought back to levels things up and eventually stole the win.

Bergwijn gave Spurs the lead following a cool finish in the 13th minute but Doherty pulled one back for the visitors.

Serge Aurier scored afterwards to give the home team a 2-1 lead at the end of the first 45.

Wolves had other things in mind as the pulled one back in the 57th minute through Jota and the winner came in the 73rd minute through Jimenez.
