Ahead of the Liverpool and Manchester United English Premier League clash at Anfield, managers Jurgen Klopp and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have been laying their minds bare.

United last got a win against Liverpool in 2016 and were held to a draw at Old Trafford in the EPL this season.

The clash today will determine if Liverpool will maintain their unbeaten run which currently sees them at 38 games unbeaten.

Speaking about the game, Klopp said, “In the good old times you saw that it was a special game because everyone flew at each other and kicked each other off the pitch. But I don’t want to see that.

“If anyone asks us for that, no chance. We want to win the game, we don’t want to win one little battle.

“We accept being aggressive in a completely different way to our grandfathers.

“If we hurt someone it hurts ourselves and not the other one. You need a clear mindset and an outstanding atmosphere.”

On the quality United possess ahead of the match, Klopp said, “United have a really good football team, talented and experienced. There is a lot of good potential on the pitch.

“I think they will probably qualify for the Champions League this season.

Klopp further stated that: “So, of course, they can beat us. But they can only play as good as we let them play.

“If we are at our best it’s difficult for every team. It’s our stadium so we have to make sure everybody knows that.”

Solskjaer on his own part gave an update on his side's injury status.

“Axel had a setback but he’s working his way towards fitness. Eric and Tim are fit and available," Solskjaer told manutd.com.

“Luke has been ill and he’s had a little issue. Diogo is back and Marcos is still not ready. He had a bad calf injury that took longer than we expected," he added.

He also advised Klopp to break the record of Sir Alex Ferguson before he can be considered a great manager in the English Premier League.

“You have to do it again and again and again. Sir Alex had an exceptional way of motivating us and getting us ready.

“You look at Liverpool now and they have 33 wins and five draws from the last 38 games, that’s a decent season.

“But we’re just past halfway and there are many, many games to go. To get called a great team, hmm, let’s see when the season has finished,'' Solskjaer explained according to UK Sun.
