Nigeria’s Flamingoes suffered their first defeat in the hands of Germany at the ongoing 2022 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Goa, India.
Germany defeated Nigeria 2-1 to top the Group B table with three points.
The Bankole Olowookere team took the lead in the 30th of the match after Miracle Usani converted a direct free kick won by Etim Edidiong.
Hamburger defender Svea Stoldt scored the equaliser in the 49th minute before Mara Alber made it 2-1.
Flamingoes will now face New Zealand on Friday before their last Group B match against Chile scheduled for Monday evening.
The best performances of Flamingoes were achieved in 2010, 2012 and 2014 editions when they reached the quarterfinals of the mundial.
