Following the removal of fuel subsidy in the country, the price of fuel has increased twice with many selling for as high as N620 per litre or more in parts of Nigeria.

As a result of this, there has been a hike in the cost of living and transportation across the country which has caused discomfort among the citizens.

In an attempt to ease the burden on residents in Kano state, Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, has revealed that he reduced the price of petrol, at his fuel station MYCA7 in the state.

According to him, this move is to help alleviate the hardship on Nigerians due to the hike in the price of the petroleum product.

The professional footballer announced on his Twitter page on Monday, July 27, that the price of fuel has been reduced from N620 to N580 per litre.

Speaking in an interview with PUNCH, Musa said,

“Its the best that I can do for my people here,” Musa said.

“No matter how small the reduction is, we can live better with that. It’s tough now and I know people are struggling to survive daily."

He also reveals his intentions to open more fuel stations across the country before he retires from football.

“Hopefully, MYCA7 will be in other parts of the country pretty soon,” he said.
